Biogas Production from Wheat Straw using Textile Industrial Wastewater by Co-digestion Process: Experimental and Kinetic Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

In the present experimental study, anaerobic co-digestion of wheat straw with textile industry wastewater (TIWW) was evaluated for biogas production. Anaerobic digestion systems were operated at ambient temperature (28-30 ºC) 20 days. Five different ratios distilled water added to inoculated cow dung operating in five digesters. Time-rate derivative models, including Gompertz’s model and its related extensions, used represent yields. It has been found that slurry containing digested 75% diluted maximum production, while only (not water) minimum

A new kinetic model for biogas production from co-digestion by batch mode

Coming out from the growth kinetics, the Gompertz model has been developed and considered as the best one for simulating the biogas production from anaerobic digestion. However, the model has failed to describe the starting point of the process, and no-sense of lag phase constant has been pointed out. Thus, the goal of this study is to develop a new kinetic model of biogas production with meani...

Enhanced Methane Production from Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Wheat Straw and Herbal-Extraction Process Residues

The efficient biosynthesis of methane from renewable biomass resources is discussed in this paper. Herbal-extraction process residues (HPR) are an excellent raw material for anaerobic digestion because of their abundant trace elements and fermentation stability. Anaerobic codigestion of wheat straw with HPR was evaluated at HPR/wheat straw ratios (based on total solids (TS), of wheat straw) of ...

Combined production of bioethanol and biogas from wheat straw

Due to the problems with environment and green house gases more biofuels as bioethanol and biogas needs to be produced to reduce the problems. Wheat straw as raw material is a good choice for ethanol and biogas production since wheat is the most produced crop in Sweden and the whole Europe and it isn’t competitive to food. In this study three different options for pretreatment of wheat straw, c...

Anaerobic digestion of mixed silage of waterweed biomass and wheat straw in a long-term semi-continuous biogas production process

Background: As part of the maintenance of lakes and rivers, large quantities of aquatic biomass are produced every year. Neophytes, such as Elodea nuttallii, compete with native species and cause a disturbance to the ecosystem, which can manifest itself in the form of eutrophication. Aquatic macrophytes are not in competition with the production of food and animal feed and thus can be used in a...
